How Important Are Back Links?

IM 20How Important Are Back Links?

Back links will maximize your online company presence, just as articles can build your online presence. A few other names for back links are:

- IBL’s

- Inbound Links

- Incoming Links

The back link is the opposite of a hyperlink.

A hyperlink takes a user from site A to site B.

A back link takes a user back from site B to site A.

Web directories and websites from other directories receive back links and search engines use back links to determine the ranking of a website. A search engine can decide which site is at the top of a list by the amount of back links it gets. However you must first enter a keyword in your search engine.

A back link is built on quality, and so if sites start linking to your website then you know your website is successful. Traffic will be coming to your website and your business will flourish. The trick to increase your business is therefore to build a great back link, and then the ball will start rolling.

There are good versus bad back links to your website, so make sure you get good quality links to your website from other similar websites. If you are a dentist, for example, you will want to get a back link from another dental site.

How to get a back link?

If your site is not a great site, no one will back link to your site, so make sure your website and content are extraordinary!

- First you need to find a website you like.

- Find a person to read your article and post it on their site.

- If your article is good it will probably have no problem getting posted.

- Most webmasters want unique information on their site.

- Another way to get a back link is to get your article syndicated or summarized in an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. Someone interested in the summary of your article will make sure to go back to your site to read the whole article.

When you write an article that is new, fun, interesting and newsworthy make sure to put a link to the article. If your press release is not newsworthy, it may get lost and ignored in the World Wide Web, but if you publish a newsworthy press release with a link to your website, then you can increase interest, and traffic will automatically come to your website because of that excellent back link you just created.

How to Use Forums as Traffic Generators

IM 19How to Use Forums as Traffic Generators

One of the most popular methods of traffic generation is participating and posting in forums. Forums are social groups where people meet online, talk and write about several issues, products and exchange opinions and reviews.

There is practically a forum for every niche, so you can definitely find some that are related to your field. Try to participate actively so that you are able to build some good relationships with the other users and business owners and in this way get some much wanted traffic.

There are a few tips though that you should keep in mind when it comes to forums and forum posting.

First of all, it would be wise to conduct some research and find out which ones are highly ranked in the search engines and which ones have the biggest number of users, especially the active ones. Of course you need to find the ones that are as close as possible to your niche, so as to be able to post some quality content posts there.

If you have never posted on a forum before you have to make sure that you know how it works. In order to do that you need to spend some time finding out what you need to do and how to go about the posting process. Usually a simple registration is enough to get you started, as most of the forums are free.

You need to make sure that you maintain a reliable profile when visiting forums. Do not try to promote your website and your business right from the word ‘go’. It is quite likely that no one will take you seriously. You have to spend some time there first, become active, exchange a few words with the other forum members and then you can start advertising your services or website.

Always keep in mind that whenever you write something, be it a blog, article or forum post, you have to provide quality content. People need to see that you

are really an expert in what you do and that you can prove helpful, with great insight on various topics. No one will care about you and your business if you are not informative and resourceful, since there are many online businessmen who will be doing the same thing as you. You need to show you are different to gain attention.

One of the most important things you need to do when it comes to forums is to stay active, putting in a very frequent, if not daily presence. You must show that you are really interested in participating in the forums and not just for advertising reasons. Be creative and sincere and once you have built a base on a particular forum, let networking take over and bring you the kind of business you desire.

Is There Such A Thing As Free Web Traffic?

IM 18Is There Such A Thing As Free Web Traffic?

If you surf the internet you will often come across the term ‘free web traffic’. It sounds really nice and attractive. You cannot deny that really as it has the ‘free’ factor attached to it. But there are two questions here that need to be answered. What is free traffic and if it does really exist?

With the term free traffic we refer to strategies and plans that can generate traffic without spending any money at all, or when you get the desired traffic without paying any traffic dealer or trader – practically without hiring professionals and companies to do the job. However charming this term is though, it could not be further from the truth. There is no serious professional that will tell you that you can get free traffic for your online business.

First of all, generating and monetizing traffic is something that cannot happen from one day to another. It takes time and effort, and usually a few months pass before you see some serious traffic coming your way, provided that you have done some persistently good job the previous time. And what does this good job mean?

It means that you provide the potential customers and clients with some value and value is something that by default cannot be completely free. Even if we don’t talk about spending money in order to pay someone to write something for you but you do it yourself, you will spend some serious time to either write a blog or article, advertise your work, and make yourself known. Only if you consider your time worthless, traffic can be really free.

What is true is that you have the option to choose how much money you will spend in order to generate traffic. Spending too much money is definitely optional, as you can choose not to hire expensive professionals and outsourcers and do the SEO job yourself, or hire someone for little money. Dedicating time, especially if you do everything yourself, is not really optional.

In this case you have to invest a part of your everyday life in order to plan and launch a marketing campaign that will make your company known and will bring traffic and potential customers to your business. The harder you work, the better the results.

In any case, you will have to spend some money to have a domain name and server support, buy some software that will help you with a marketing strategy and maybe something that will keep track of emails and correspondence. Remember that in order to make money, you need to spend some money. The amount is up to you, but do not start your business believing in fairy tales.

Simple Techniques For Effective Traffic Generation

The frustration you go through when setting up your business and your website is not unfortunately the only one you have to deal with. Making money through them online can be a really hard and stressful task as well and it goes on till your business is on. In order to be able to deal with this intimidating task you will need to generate some traffic to your website, preferably of the kind that could be converted to sales and revenues.

There are some tips and techniques that you can follow if you want to gain visibility and direct users to your web pages. Here are the most important ones among them.

Remember, the better you follow them, the greater the results.

• Write articles and blogs. You might not be the greatest author ever, but really this is not something anyone will ever ask from you. You just need to write natural and normal things, providing an insight and some good and informative tips on the business and in the fields of your expertise. Support and some suggestions about particular issues is something that can prove really helpful and useful for the users and readers, who will definitely come back to your articles and will click on your links in order to see what your services are. Building a trusting relationship between you and the readers is crucial.

• Visit other blogs and comment on them. Choose some blogs that are related to your field and niche. Try to be honest and helpful with your comments

so as to make the readers consider you as a valuable resource of information. Don’t forget when commenting to leave back links to your website so that the readers can click directly on them.

• Visit Forums. Forums and social networks can make your name known among internet users. Some of them are really search engine friendly as well. Writing posts in forums can work the exact same way as the articles and blogs so the same rules apply here as well. Leave your back links so as to make sure that the readers will know how to find you.

• Submit your articles and blogs to directories and blog engines. Do not overdo it though. Choose the ones that have the biggest traffic and visibility and submit your creations, always with back links to gain some more exposure.

• If you use your email a lot, or if you participate in social groups add a link to your forum. People who know you will click on it and then you can benefit from the so called viral marketing phenomenon.

Start now with these techniques and you will slowly start seeing the visitors flock to your website. Do not expect to monetize the traffic right away, as these processes usually take some time.

What Targeted Traffic is and How to Drive it to Your Website

IM 16What Targeted Traffic is and How to Drive it to Your Website

If you’ve been interested in Internet marketing for a while then you have no doubt heard about how important it is to drive traffic to your site. But traffic alone won’t bring in the profits. What you need is targeted traffic.

What is Targeted Traffic?

Targeted traffic refers to people who are already interested in what you are marketing. Consider this: Suppose you have a website that caters to some aspect of weddings. If only a small portion of your site visitors are interested in wedding topics then you have a small chance of generating revenue from those visitors. But what if the majority of your site visitors were interested in weddings? Then you would have a much greater chance of generating revenue from those visitors.

How to Target the Right Traffic

In order to bring targeted traffic to your website, you will need to market to the group you are trying to sell to. For instance, if your site caters to weddings, be sure and visit discussion forums that are about weddings. Place a link back to your site in your signature line and when other members of the forum, who are interested in weddings or they wouldn’t be there, click on your link, you have driven targeted traffic to your website.

As you can see, the key to successful Internet marketing isn’t simply to drive traffic to your site but you want site visitors who are interested in what you are promoting. So you need to look for places that people in your niche hang out online and market accordingly.

Building Your List

Since you are concentrating on getting the people who are actually interested in your niche to visit your site, don’t pass up this opportunity to get their email addresses when they do visit. Offer your site visitors an incentive to provide their names and email addresses by offering them something too good to pass up. This could be a newsletter, an ecourse, an ebook, a special report or any number of things your site visitors would likely be interested in receiving, for free.

This is not the time to charge; that will come later. First, you want to get their names and email addresses so you can build a list that you can market directly to via email. Then, instead of just having a massive email list, you’ll have a list of people that you know are interested in your niche and will be much more likely to generate profits down the road.

How to Choose One or More Niches for Your Affiliate Marketing Business

IM 15How to Choose One or More Niches for Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Niche marketing is one way that affiliate marketers use to promote their products. A niche is simply an area of expertise or interest such as dogs or health and fitness. Of course, those categories are quite broad and the savvy Internet marketer will drill down into those subjects to come up with a more specialized area.

For example, taking the subject of dogs, you could then come up with a variety of subjects related to dogs upon which you could base your niche. It could be dog training, specialized doggy diets, canine health, or a variety of other subjects related to dogs.

Consider Your Interests and Hobbies

What are you interested in that others might be interested in too? This is a great place to start when trying to come up with a niche in which to begin your affiliate marketing career. After all, if you know something about a subject, it will be easier to talk about it and if you’re excited about something, that excitement will show through in your content. Conversely, if you choose a niche just because it is popular but you have no real interest in it then you run the risk of your ambivalence showing through as well.

What would You Like to do or Know?

Have you always wanted to know more about hang gliding, skiing, or ventriloquism? Even if you don’t yet know very much about your affiliate marketing niche, if you have the interest in learning more, you could still become somewhat of an expert and develop content that would interest others. Once you develop your website with interesting content, you will want to scour the Internet for appropriate products to promote.

Keywords, Keywords, Keywords!

Many affiliate marketers rely on keywords to tell them which niche they will market in. They do keyword searches to find out what people are searching for and interested in, and therefore, more likely to spend money on.

Keywords are important but it must be stressed again not to rely solely on keywords. Another important consideration is how many sites are already up and running for those keyword searches. Although you will have competition regardless of which niche you choose to market in, you don’t want to get started in a niche that is already over saturated.

To be successful in affiliate marketing, you will likely experience some trial and error. It is important to do your research and it is also important to remain flexible. A good rule of thumb might be to choose niches in which there are significant keyword searches and for which you also hold some interest.

How to be a Successful Affiliate Marketer

IM 14How to be a Successful Affiliate Marketer

If at first you don’t succeed…This famous quote may need to become your mantra when you embark on a career in affiliate marketing. That’s not because it is so difficult to find success as an affiliate marketer but because you may have to try different techniques and strategies until you find the one that works best for you. Many a would be affiliate marketer gives up long before they find success because they didn’t realize how much work is really involved in affiliate marketing.

Make a Commitment

Even if you just start out promoting one product, make the commitment to go through all the processes necessary to succeed. Do your research, find the right products to promote, experiment with different marketing strategies, keep careful records, and build an exciting website that others will find engaging, informative, and helpful.

Do it Again

Once you’ve discovered the secret to making money as an affiliate marketer, you will be ready to replicate your success. This may involve promoting more products, building more websites, or a combination of the two. Or, you may decide that you’re satisfied with your current level of success and choose instead to spend your time and energy maintaining and updating your website so that you can enjoy continued success.

Don’t make the mistake of spreading yourself too thin as many of those in affiliate marketing have done. When you spread yourself too thin and attempt to build more websites than you can pay attention to, your sales will eventually suffer and this could have a snowball effect. It is far better to keep a few well maintained websites than to build so many you can’t keep up with them.

Keep up With Trends and Technology

Successful affiliate marketers know that change is inevitable and they keep up with the changing market. What may fly off the proverbial shelves today may not sell at all tomorrow so it is important to stay on top of market trends even when you are enjoying success. Technology that is hot one day will often be obsolete the next day and this can impact your business as well so it is important to stay on top of technological advances.

If you educate yourself about affiliate marketing and have a commitment to work hard and succeed then there is every reason to believe that you will soon join the ranks of successful affiliate marketers. Affiliate marketing offers you the chance to be your own boss and set your own schedule, something millions of people yearn to do. Success is yours if you want it badly enough.

What Affiliate Networks are and Why You Should Consider Using Them

IM 13What Affiliate Networks are and Why You Should Consider Using Them

Affiliate networks house many opportunities for affiliate marketers in one location. Instead of one affiliate program for one company, affiliate marketing networks act like malls; several companies are represented and the affiliate marketer can choose which products and which companies to represent. The network keeps track of sales and pays the affiliate marketer. Once a marketer signs up with the network, he or she can then begin affiliate marketing the products they choose without having to sign up or register with the individual companies.

Digital Products

Some affiliate networks market digital products and others market physical products. Some market a combination of the two. Buyers are able to download digital products immediately after purchase; these products may range from ebooks to diet solutions to ringtones and more. Sellers are able to track their sales using tools the network provides. In addition, before affiliate marketers choose which products they’ll promote, they are able to see how well the products are selling and have a look at the product’s sales page.

Commissions

The rate of commission, or referral fees, as they are sometimes called, can vary widely with affiliate networks. One product may give you a 25% commission while another product may pay a 75% rate of commission. While it may seem like a no-brainer to choose the product that pays the higher rate of commission, that is not always a good idea.

This is true not only for affiliate networks but for all affiliate programs. Think about it: just because a product pays a high rate of commission doesn’t mean you’ll make more money promoting it. After all, 75% of zero is still zero. What you are looking for is products that sell so be sure and look at the rate of conversion when you have the opportunity to do so.

Get One Paycheck for Promoting Multiple Products

One of the advantages to working your affiliate marketing business through affiliate networks is that you’ll be paid for the sales of all your products at one time from one company. Therefore, it may be more convenient for you to associate yourself with an affiliate network rather than with multiple companies.

It may come down to which products you are willing to promote; if you are already marketing in a certain niche then you may need to look for products that will go along with that particular niche. One thing is certain: since it costs nothing to be an affiliate marketer, experimenting is essentially free of charge. While you may spend a little time narrowing down your choices, you won’t have to put up an investment to test the waters.

Benefits of being an Affiliate Marketer

IM 12Benefits of being an Affiliate Marketer

There are many and various benefits of being an affiliate marketer so if you are still sitting on the fence, you might want to consider the following:

The Chance to be Your own Boss

A lot of people, at one time or another, yearn to be their own boss and with affiliate marketing, it is possible, although it will definitely take a lot of hard work and it could take some time. The great thing is you don’t have to quit your day job to try it out; if you don’t like it or can’t seem to make a go of it, no harm done; you still have your job. If you find it is something you enjoy and are good at it, then you can set your goals as to how much money you need to make in order to quit your day job and become a full-time affiliate marketer.

There is Nothing to Buy

You don’t have to buy anything in order to get started with affiliate marketing. You can start in your spare time and work your way into full-time or you can go full steam ahead at the outset. You don’t have to buy a book to learn about it or subscribe to anything. The Internet is bulging with free information about affiliate marketing. In addition, you don’t have to buy any products or even worry about shipping.

You Don’t Have to Deal with Customers

Just what kind of business is it that you can make money by selling products to customers yet never have to deal with them? Affiliate marketing! That’s right, you don’t have to deal with customers at all; the companies you represent do all of that. Even if your customer wants a full refund, they won’t be bothering you. The company that you represent will handle all customer service concerns and refund money if it is their policy to do so. Incidentally, it is a good idea to choose companies that do offer a money back guarantee because customers like to buy from them more than they do from the ones that don’t offer such a guarantee.

Low Expenses

You can be an affiliate marketer while in your pajamas if you choose. You won’t have to buy gas, clothes, pay for dry cleaning, or lunches out. What’s more, it’s the perfect opportunity for stay-at-home mothers and fathers or for anyone who wants to work out of their home.

Affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme and you won’t make tons of money overnight. It is, however, a great way to make money from home without any start-up costs if you are willing to work hard and put in the time and energy to succeed.
